‘M’ Star Ratings

Maz’s Movie Memorandum operates an ‘M Star Rating’ system, a gauge of cinematic quality unique to the blog. Here is a quick guide:

  • M - Worst. Film. Ever – terrible, just terrible. You have been warned.
  • MM – Poor, pretty shocking.
  • MMM - Mediocre at best, but room for improvement. Fairly good.
  • MMMM - Very very good film.
  • MMMMM - Excellent, outstanding.

Truly brilliant films seem at the moment fairly hard to come by, so very few receive the 5Ms rating. If there happens to be one that receives it, you know its got to be special.
